The producer
This house was founded in 1898 by António Bernardino da Silva Chitas in Azenhas do Mar. During the early years, its sales were mainly concentrated in the Lisbon region and in large-scale export to Brazil. Followed by his son António Bernardino da Silva Chitas Júnior, and now his grandson António Bernardino Paulo da Silva, his sales today are concentrated not only on the domestic market, but on a large percentage in the exportation of wines to various countries in Europe and the United States of America. It is a company proud of the numerous awards it has won - over 60 gold, silver and honorable mentions - in national and international competitions, rewarding the quality of its wines and its different brands: Colares Chitas, Casa da Azenha, Carunchosa, Ribamar and Paulo da Silva Garrafeiras.
