The Producer

Since 1937, the company Caves do Solar de São Domingos has been producing sparkling wines, old spirits, grape spirit, Bairrada and Dão wines. Its galleries hold more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, large thousands of bottled wines and hundreds of French oak barrels for its famous wine spirits. Aguardente Bagaceira “São Domingos”, produced in its own stills, continues to lead the market with the usual quality. In 2006, a modern winemaking center was opened, which allows one thousand tons of grapes to be received from its own properties and from wine growers working in partnership with the company. The constant innovation of the means of production and winemaking, has allowed to raise the quality and prestige of the house wines, reinforcing the business competitiveness of the São Domingos brand. Wine tourism is also a winning bet, dazzling thousands of visitors every year for the beauty of the galleries carved in the rock, the millions of bottles, as well as the show room, lounge and museum with tasting room, forming an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
