The Producer

Cockburn’s has always questioned the so-called “rules” for making Port wine. In 1815, Robert and John Cockburn, two Scottish brothers, bypassed the crowded merchant fair in Porto and went to the Douro to buy the best grapes directly from the winemakers. They should have seen the face the others looked on!
We have done things our way, declaring Vintage years when we understand that it should be, regardless of what the competing Port wine houses might think.
